Bastille Day or 14th of July is the France’s Day and New York celebrates!
Many events occurred this week, the Bastille Day is everywhere! But my favorite event it is happening today in Brooklyn, in Smith Street!
Bar Tabac organizes the 8th Annual Bastille Day Petanque Tournament at Smith Street! From 11am to 10pm! Don’t miss it! It will be great!
The atmosphere is wonderful! Smith Street its convert in a french street with french food, music, the traditional crepes and of course, Ricard. Even if you don’t like Ricard, you will love it! I have to confess that I don’t like the drink but I love the logo and you can see all around; people wearing Ricard’s hats, buntings, glasses… It is everywhere.
You can seat around the corner of Tabac, or go to the cross streets where the petanque players talk, drink Ricard and play petanque. If you don’t know how to play, just seat and look at them. I did last year and I will do the same in a few hours! I will watch how the young people play petanque. Back in my country the people who play petanque is older! It is a kind of old fashioned game for us. But I really enjoyed the last year and I will not miss it!
If you get hungry, just come back to Smith Street, buy a crepe with Nutella, or a baguette sandwich, or any of delicious food that they are selling! Also, you can do some shopping!!
And come back, come back to watch the players… When it is getting late, it is even better.
If you didn’t try Ricard, you should do today, it is the day. Put some Ricard, some ice and stay there.
I am going right now. See you there?
